She was predeceased by: her parents, Vernon Edward Rawles and Lula Mae Newman Rawles; her husband William Arnold "Bill" Grissom, Jr.; and her sisters, Odelle Stainback, Betty Wall and Nancy Edmonds.
She is survived by: her children, Wendy Tillotson (David) of Durham and Brian Grissom (Teresa) of Newton; and her grandchildren, Michael Tillotson (Marcail), Mark Tillotson (Grace), Lily Grissom and Rachel Grissom. She is also survived by nieces and nephews; and a cousin.
