She was predeceased by: her parents, Vasser Preddy and Mamie Parrott Preddy; and her siblings, Doris P. Beard (Roy) of Raleigh, Betty P. West (Lonnie) of Oxford and Phil Preddy (Diane) of Florida.

She is survived by: her children, Tammy Hicks O'Briant (Tim) of Roxboro and Kenneth Travis Hicks (Betty) of Oxford; and her close friend Jimmy Hayes of Oxford. She is also survived by four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and three step grandchildren.
