It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael Byron Hobbs (Henderson, North Carolina), born in Norfolk, Virginia, who passed away on January 9, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Thomas Hobbs and Norma Hobbs Conwell; his brother Tommy Hobbs; and his nephew Dean Hobbs. He is survived by: his wife Gaye Sutton Hobbs; his children, Michael Thomas Hobbs (Laurie), Angii Hobbs Stephens (David), Lindsay Hobbs Wicken (John), Connie Fields (Doug) and Eddie Teachey (Sula); his grandchildren, Jordan, Alec Hobbs, Gia Wicken, Paul Fields (Shellie), Jessica Hill (Charles), Ashley Hildreth (Jamie) and Carrie Lee (Eric); his sisters, Norma Hobbs Johnson and Lynne Hobbs; and his sister-in-law Ruby Hobbs. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Flat Rock UMC, 2560 Satterwhite Point Rd., Henderson.
