He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Aycock Chappell and Rev. Charlie Junior Chappell; and his brother Robert Lee Chappell. He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Spain Chappell; his sister Alma C. Gillian (Roberto) of Henderson; his stepbrother Joe Currin of Henderson; his stepchildren, Frances Vargas (Chico) of Henderson and Billy Lawson (Melissa) of Henderson; and his grandson Billy Lawson, Jr.. He is also survived by five step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
