He was predeceased by: his parents, David W. Harris and Mary Belle Miller Harris; and his brothers, David F. Harris and Ronald W. Harris. He is survived by: his children, Cindy Harris, Mary Harris, Melissa Harris Braziel (Jeremy) and Richard L. Harris Jr. (LuAnn); his grandchildren, Samantha Moran (Dylan), David Harris (Courtney), Breanna Braziel Cross (Michael), Ryan Braziel and Caitiln Braziel; his great grandchildren, Mickey Moran, Rosie Moran and Owen Cross; and his brother Norman G. Harris. He is also survived by three nieces and one nephew.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Watkins Volunteer Fire Department, 1590 Horseshoe Bend Rd, Henderson, NC 27537.
