He is survived by: his wife Peggy McFarland (Lee); his son Jason McFarland (Allison); his grandsons, Monroe, Oscar and Harry; and his siblings, Muriel L. Fallon (Richard) of Stoneham, Patricia M. Stornanti (Frank) of Reading, Mary L. McFarland, Stephen J. McFarland (Virginia) of Groton and Kevin A. McFarland (Cynthia) of Danversport. He is also survived by many nephews, a niece, as well as many grandnephews and nieces.
