He is survived by: his wife Tonita Baca "Toni" Smith; his children, James Forrest Smith (Rita) and Katrina Smith Stokes (David) of Henderson; his stepchildren, Connie Ocaña of Colorado, Judy Ocaña of New Mexico and Robert Ocaña of Colorado; his grandchildren, James Eddie Smith, Lydia Dawn Smith, Kale Boone and Seth Boone; his stepgrandchildren, Aaron Ocaña, Andy Ocaña, Ravin Basher, Tonita Lopez and Marcos Moya; and his siblings, Evie S. Odom of Apex, Marie S. Gilland of Nashville, TN, Larraine S. Abbott (Jamie) of Kittrell and Randall S. Smith of Concord. He is also survived by numerous loving in-laws and nieces and nephews.
