William Joseph Long Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on February 20, 2026, at the age of 71, William Joseph Long (Henderson, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though William may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those William touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Martha Jane Tennant Long and William Elsworth Long; his daughter-in-law Megan Long; and his siblings, Kent Long, Kevin Long, Beverly Yama, Judy Long, Joy Corrie and Lynda Long.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Y. Long; his son Andrew Long of Durham; and his siblings, Barbara Fennimore (Jack) of Blackwood, NJ, Susan Gibbons of Lower Burrell, PA and Jon Long (Sandra). He is also survived by Paw Paw, WV; and numerous nieces and nephews.
