He was predeceased by: his father Michael J. Hester; and his wife Darlene Marie Stevens-Hester. He is survived by: his mother Ada Merdel Nix Hester; his daughters, Janet Fillyaw of Murphy, Karen Costello of Stuart and Tracey Dube; his stepdaughter Robin Mickelson of Jupiter, Florida; his sister Catherine McArtor; and his daughter Sylvia Hester of Stuart, Florida. He is also survived by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Michael J. "Mike" Hester to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
