She was predeceased by: her parents, Vernon Clayton and Flossie Buckner Clayton; her former husband Hal Lewis Drake, Jr.; Faye Cadwallader, Earl F. Clayton, Robert G. Clayton, Vernon E. Clayton and Leonard G. Clayton.
She is survived by: her husband Raymond Carter; her son Doug Drake; her grandchildren, Matthew Jacob Drake, Kris Cox and Lori Stoopman; her great grandchildren, Jac Chapman and Kiki Chapman; and her siblings, Mary Frances Shelton and Arthur D. Clayton.
In lieu of flowers, the family graciously asks that memorial donations are made to either St Jude Children's Hospital (http://www.stjude.org) or to Shriner's Children's Hospital (http://www.shrinerschildrens.org).
