He is survived by: his children, Lynn Rogers (Jerry), Tina Sims Steinbeck (Greg), Timothy Sims (Sara) and James Franey (Lisa); his siblings, Betty Marie Karr, Sharon Day Seemann, Hazel Darlene Thompson, Glen Vernon Sims and Gary Edward Sims; his grandchildren, Jess (Jaron), Josh, Gage, Peyton, Anabelle (Denise), Adelaide, Steven, Malakie, Antonio, Mitchell, Mia and Michael; and his great grandchildren, Carson, Tanner, Shaw, Demetrius, Spencer and Prudence. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
