With sadness, we share the passing of Fenton Cartwright Sr. (Hertford, North Carolina). Fenton, born on January 5, 1938, passed away on August 19, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dockey Cartwright and Fannie Dail Cartwright Stallings; the mother of his children Jackie Midgette Cartwright; his wives, Janet Dail Cartwright and Mardie H. Cartwright; his daughter Cindy C. Bindo; his son-in-law Ray Stallings; and his siblings, Betty Lou Boyce, Evelyn Overton, Annie Belle Squires, Katie Cartwright, Myrtle Askew, Marguerite Grey, Fannie Dail Colson, Horace Cartwright, Oliver Cartwright and Wayland Cartwright.
He is survived by: his children, Fenton Cartwright, Jr. (Kim) of Hertford, NC, Theresa Stallings of Hertford, NC and Arlene Layden (Elton) of Farmville, VA; his stepdaughter Dail Bunting (Chris) of Youngsville, NC; his close friend Marjorie Winslow; Steve (Doreen) of Belvidere, NC and Cindy Upton (Ricky) of Elizabeth City, NC. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
