He was predeceased by: his parents, Kramer Carter and Roxanna Simmons Carter; his uncle Leamon Simmons; and his sisters, Marion Carter and Diane Dinkins.
He is survived by: his children, Sherrica Jones, Kimbly Yarborough (Lamonte), Kelvon Carter, Courtney Carter and Chantel Smith (Chevoy); his grandchildren, Shatima Pridgen, Jakeim Thomas, Ashantie Williams, D'nedra Carter, Daijahn Jones, Te'Kiera Newby and Te'Niya Newby; and his siblings, Carrie Trussell (Jeffery), Lewis Carter (Sheila), Keith Carter (Diana) and Lillian Drew (Henry). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
