We are sad to announce that, on April 28, 2020, at the age of 64, Thomas Gene McCready (Hertford, North Carolina), born in Portsmouth, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Fontaine Lee "Tinnie" and Mildred Elizabeth Carter McCready. He is survived by: his close friend Virginia H. Hurst; his daughter Ashley N. Hurst; his granddaughter Nina R. Hurst of Hertford; his siblings, Lillian Elizabeth McCready Smithson of Florida and Leonard Lee "Lennie" McCready of Chesapeake, VA; and his close friend Robert Ertsgaard of Hertford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help defray medical and other related expenses.
