With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of William Larry Whidbee (Hertford, North Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 14, 2024 at the age of 81. In bidding William adieu, let us not mourn the silence that now fills the spaces William once occupied, but rather celebrate the vibrant colors he painted upon the canvas of our lives. For while he may have departed from this earthly realm, his spirit remains a beacon of light, guiding us through the darkest of nights.

He is survived by : his wife Barbara James-Whidbee; and his siblings, Edie White (Richard), Audrey, Yvonne, Cynthia Whidbee of Waterbury Connecticut, Lavern Hernandez (Vernon), Beulah Johnikins of Waterbury Connecticut and Nelson Whidbee (Cynthia) of Waterbury Connecticut. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, step-children, grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Viewing was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Galatia Missionary Baptist Church (2384 New Hope Rd, Hertford, NC 27944). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
