It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Águeda Vélez Acevedo of Hickory, North Carolina, who passed away on November 30, 2022, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ramón Vélez Díaz and María Acevedo Toro; and her siblings, Nicolás Vélez Acevedo, William Vélez Acevedo, Lucas Vélez Acevedo and Elba Ortíz.
She is survived by: her daughter Lourdes Hill; her son-in-law Jerry Hill; her daughter Marta Rodríguez; her son-in-law José Cruz; her daughter Carmen Y. Chervony; and her siblings, María I. Vélez Acevedo and Santiago Vélez Acevedo. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
