He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Hollar and Nell Jarrett Hollar; his wife Nancy Louise Bogle Hollar; his son-in-law Matthew Robinson; and his siblings, Bennett Hollar, Pete Hollar and Susie Duffey (Paul).

He is survived by: his daughter Judith Elaine Hollar Robinson of Hickory; his granddaughters, Miranda Elaine Minton (Tyler) of Hickory and Madelaine Gracie Smith (Luke) of Las Cruces, NM; his great grandchildren, Hezekiah Minton and Bennett Smith; his siblings, Carolyn "Sissie" Poovey (Kenny) of Hickory and Charles Lee Hollar (Carolyn) of Hickory; and his siblings-in-law, Martha Hollar, Barbara Hollar, Judy Laporte, Linda Lutz and Kenny Bogle. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
