With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alice Luke Yount (Hickory, North Carolina), born in Salt Lake City, Utah, who passed away on March 14, 2025 at the age of 101. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Everett G. Yount (Ed); her son Steven A. Yount (Steve) of Hickory; and her parents, Louise McEwan and Frances Luke (Pat). She is survived by: her daughters, Peggy Y. Woods Floyd of Hickory and Linda Y. Bowman (Don Stanton) of Morganton; her grandchildren, Angela W. Rysanek (William J. Rysanek IV) of Raleigh, R. Scott Woods of Newton and T. Heath Woods of Mooresville; her great grandchildren, Jordan N. Woods (Joseph Nelson) of Mooresville, Erin N. Rysanek of Sacramento, CA, William J. Rysanek V (Ellen) of Chicago, IL and Jesse L. Bowman of Claremont, NC.; and her siblings, Robert, Richard, Donald and Marian.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be sent to the Aids Leadership Foothills -Area Alliance (ALFA), 1120 Fairgrove Church Rd, Suite 28, Hickory, NC, 28602, a non-profit organization started by her late son, Steve.
