She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Flowers and Lillian Boston Williams; her husband Herbert Hoover, Sr.; her daughter Patricia Hoover; and her sister Gladys Cade.

She is survived by: her children, Sharon Ann Hoover of Hickory, Herbert B. Hoover, Jr. of Bay Minette and David Hoover of Conover; her daughters-in-law, Charlene Shuford of Hickory and Viola Olivia Hoover of Bay Minette; her siblings, Jacqueline Cain of Hickory and Sam Booker of New York; and her close friends, Gladys Scott and Gladys Shuford. She is also survived by grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, a host of nieces and nephews.
