We are sad to announce that, on September 20, 2025, at the age of 83, Barry Grant Benfield Sr. of Hickory, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ledford Waitsel Grant Benfield and Sarah Burns Benfield; his former wife Jeanne Fritz Benfield; and his stepson James Crowe. He is survived by: his wife Marsha Sigmon Benfield; his children, Kim Davis (Mitch), Grant Benfield (Cindy), Lisa Semple (Robert) and Anna Harding (Brian); his sisters, Myra Grove (John), Pam Steele (Steve) and Stephanie Raby (Charlie); and his cousins, Frances Bibb (Lewis) and David Johnson. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Bethel United Methodist Church.
