He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Ellsworth Ferrell Cale and Ruth Berry Cale Riddleberger. He is survived by: his wife Sandra McKendrick Cale of Indian Land, SC; his son Bennett William Cale; his daughter-in-law Gabrielle Anderman Cale of Lafayette, CA; his son Christopher Scott Cale; his daughter-in-law Paola Ceccon Cale of Keeseville, NY; his son Kevin Carlyle Cale; his daughter-in-law Jennifer Boukema Cale of Watchung, NJ; his sister Beverly Cale Caldwell of Sherrills Ford, NC; and his grandchildren, River Bryant Cale, Isadore Ellsworth Cale (Izzy), Taylor Jade Cale (TJ) and Sabine Roseberry Cale. He is also survived by cousins, extended family.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 21st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church (311 3rd Ave NE, Hickory, NC 28601).
