She was predeceased by: her father Monroe Howard Messer; her son Timothy D. Cearley (Africa) of Montgomery, AL; her parent Allie Henson Messer; and her siblings, Mary Hunter, Sarah Prior, Pauline McEwen, Shirley, George, William (Bill), Jack, Jim, Robert (Trix) and Joe.
She is survived by: her husband Robert B. Cearley, Jr.; her children, Thomas W. Cearley (Carol) of Lincolnton, NC and Beth Hill (Thomas R. Hill, MD) of Southern Pines; and her daughter-in-law Charlotte Cushing Cearley of Montgomery, AL. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
