We are sad to announce that, on January 27, 2026, at the age of 86, Butler Cody of Hickory, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Butler may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Butler touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee and Nellie Butler Cody; and his brother Max Cody. He is survived by: his wife Essie Hefner Cody "Doodle"; and his children, Stephen Cody and Julie Morrow (Tommy). He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
