She was predeceased by: her father George Laws; her husband Joe Billy Garnes; and her sister Reba Jean Ruppert. She is survived by: her children, Larry Garnes (Cynthia) of Lenoir, Bradley Garnes (Sonia) of Lenoir, Renee Garnes of Lenoir and Lena Garnes of Valdese; and her sister Shirley McNeil (Henry) of Lenoir. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
