Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Carrie Canipe Vanhorn of Hickory, North Carolina, born in Catawba, North Carolina, who passed away at the age of 85, on July 24, 2023. She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Canipe and Bessie Berryhill Canipe; her daughter Sandra Kay Smith; and her siblings, Ethel Gross and Bud Canipe.
She is survived by: her children, Kathy V. Smith of Hickory, Tony Vanhorn (Kim) of Hickory and Kenny Vanhorn (Helena) of Hickory; and her siblings, Carroll Canipe of Hickory, Pat Brown of Hickory and Brenda Tarcala of Hickory. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Grove Baptist Church, 6156 Mountain Grove Rd., Hickory, NC 28602.
