He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Willie, Jess Hintz and James Spry. He is survived by: his daughters, Kendall Spry and Lindsey Spry; his parents, Diane Samples and Douglas Spry (Janet); his siblings, Rene Spry (Angie Chatham) and Matt Spry (Laura Jones); his nieces and nephews, Clayton Spry, Mason Spry, Kennedy Stilwell and Payne Stilwell; and his great-nephew Deacon Grennhill. He is also survived by many aunts and cousins; and family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Bass-Smith Funeral Home (334 2nd St NW, Hickory, NC 28601). Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 6:45 PM at the Bass-Smith Funeral Home - Jack Bass Memorial Building (334 2nd St NW, Hickory, NC 28601).
