He was predeceased by: his parents, Emerson Thompson and Grace Thompson; and his brother Emerson M. Thompson Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Teresa Thompson; his sister Betty Baldwin; his sister-in-law Catherine Thompson; and his grandchildren, Lane Ryan, Cecilia Thompson, Will Ryan, Kyle Elmore, Emma Petticrew (Co-De), Ursula Williams, Edward Elmore, Nia Harris, Ada Elmore, Naomi Harris and Tori Sims. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
