He was predeceased by: his parents, Terry Lee Powell and Judy Propst Powell; and his brother Tommy Powell. He is survived by: his son Danny Wayne Powell, Jr. of Hickory; his grandchildren, Layla Powell, Easton Powell and Aubrey Powell; and his sisters, Teresa Powell and Tammy Powell.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Bass-Smith Funeral Home - Jack Bass Memorial Building (334 2nd St NW, Hickory, NC 28601).
