He was predeceased by: his father Frank John Shannon Jr.. He is survived by: his mother Shirley Ruth Bowman Shannon; his wife Sherry Church Shannon; his son Justin Shannon (Salem); his grandson Harrison Shannon; his siblings, Douglas Shannon and Marlene Whitener (Bobby); and his nephew Brian Whitener (Sarah). He is also survived by extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carolina Caring at 3975 Robinson Rd. Newton NC 28658.
