It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald R. Rizzo of Hickory, North Carolina, born in Akron, Ohio, who passed away on May 8, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Angelo P. Rizzo and Vera M. Clor Rizzo; his former wife Sandra L. Rizzo; and his pet Sam. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Jane Rizzo; his children, Christopher of Brunswick, OH, Michael of Newton, NC, Donald M. of Atlanta, GA, Jeffrey (Evelyn) of Akron, OH and Jennifer Larson (Tim) of Blowing Rock, NC; his grandchildren, Josh, Mady, Jenelle, Olivia, Andrew, Joseph, Luke, Theodore and Frank; and his stepchildren, Cara Caudill of Michigan and James Czarnecki of Michigan. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity or The Sisters of Maryvale.
