He was predeceased by: his father Cyrus A. Wilson; his daughter Linda Wilson Drum; and his brothers, Thomas Sherrill Wilson, Jessie Norman Wilson, Robert D. Wilson, Everett Plato Wilson and Howard Gene Wilson.

He is survived by: his wife Martha Butler Wilson; his children, Catherine Wilson-Martin, Charles "David" Wilson and Michael Gene Wilson (Cheryl); his grandchildren, Brandon David Wilson, Dillon Patrick Wilson, Nicholas Scott Wilson (Jennifer) and Lauren Wilson Walker (Jeremiah); his great grandchild Jacqueline Rose; and his brothers, Morris William Wilson, Frank Beam Wilson and Joseph Walter Wilson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
