It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edwin Charles Rice of Hickory, North Carolina, who passed away on May 21, 2026, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Rice and Dorothy Weese Rice; and his brother Richard Rice. He is survived by: his children, Scott Rice (Dea) of Boone and Shandya Rice Elowsky (Chad) of Hickory; his brother David Rice (Penny) of Jackson, MI.; his grandchildren, Olivia Rice, Reigahn Elowsky and Reise Elowsky; and his nephews, Rick Rice, Todd Rice, David Rice and Derek Rice.
