With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Effie Greene of Hickory, North Carolina, born in Cleveland, North Carolina, who passed away on January 25, 2023 at the age of 85. She was predeceased by: her parents, Julius Hudson and Effie Bivens Hudson; her husband Carroll Greene; her son Phillip Edwin Greene; and her siblings, Ossie Swaney, Goldie Ritchie, Leila Buff, Mary Johnson, Ruby Moses and Jesse Hudson.
She is survived by: her daughters, Linda Taylor (Mark) of Hickory and Sharon Marreiros (Paulo) of Claremont; her granddaughter Maria Marreiros of Claremont; and her brothers, Ivey Hudson (Peggy) of Hickory and Fred Hudson of Hickory. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
