She was predeceased by: her parents, William Donald Wilfong and Clara Yount Wilfong; her husband Marvin Harold Witherspoon; and her brothers, Donald and Kenneth Wilfong.

She is survived by: her children, Hal Witherspoon and Laura Witherspoon Alexander (Lance); her nieces and nephews, Mark Barden (Barbara), Charlie Wilfong (Melinda), Rebecca Wood (Russell) and Anna Barden; her cousins, Cyndi Yount Lee, Shirley Yount and Beverly Yount; her great-nephew Chris Barden; and her sister-in-law Frances Wilfong.
