She was predeceased by: her parents, Elizabeth Brittain Putnam and Ned Putnam, Sr.; her grandmother Pearl Yoder Land; her parents-in-law, Howard and Evelyn Murphy; and her sister-in-law Dottie Murphy Cook.
She is survived by: her husband Leslie Howard Murphy of Hickory; her son Christopher Howard Murphy (Stacey) of Hickory; her grandchildren, Savannah and Christopher; her brother Ned Putnam Jr. of Hickory; her siblings-in-law, Ted Murphy (Leslie) of Ellijay, GA, Barbara Murphy Mayfield (Rick) of Southport, NC and Ann Murphy Freeman (John) of Jacksonville, FL; and her cousin Joe Brittain (Donna) of Hickory. She is also survived by 9 nieces and nephews and 7 great nieces and nephews.
