He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilburn Shaver Bumgarner and Nora Looper Bumgarner; his wife Janette Davis Bumgarner; his daughter Pam J. Bumgarner; and his siblings, Wade Bumgarner, Clyde Bumgarner, Bernice Whitener, Tommy Bumgarner, Lucille Lafone, Gwen Bumgarner and JP Bumgarner.
He is survived by: his children, David S. Bumgarner (Tammy) of Hickory, Glenda G. Bumgarner of Hickory and Lori B. Kuykendall (Jeff) of Conover; his grandchildren, Zachary Bumgarner (Stephanie) of Hickory, Isaac Kuykendall of Conover, Hannah Bumgarner of Hickory and Emma Kuykendall of Hickory; his great grandchildren, Ava Bumgarner, Oakley Kuykendall, Allie Bumgarner and John Bumgarner; and his siblings, Frances Fisher, Lee Bumgarner and Melba Jean Penly. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
