Henrietta Cook Abernathy Obituary

We are sad to announce that on March 14, 2025, at the age of 85, Henrietta Cook Abernathy of Hickory, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Earl Cook and Ella Naomi Cook; her husband Leroy Abernathy; and her siblings, Marietta Moretz, Carol Estes, Azalea Sharpe, Edward Cook, Noel Cook, Eugene Cook and Roy Cook Jr..

She is survived by: her children, Ella Abernathy McGaughey (Bryant), Roy Lee Abernathy and Jimmy Edward Abernathy (Amy); her grandchildren, Skylar, Ryley McGaughey, Ian Abernathy, Oran and Will Abernathy; and her stepgrandchildren, Ciara Clark and Barrett Burleson. She is also survived by several loving nephews, nieces, cousins, and special friends.
