He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Claude Abernethy and Charlsie Ogle Abernethy; and his daughter Ginger Abernethy. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Beaver Abernethy; his son Mark Abernethy (Elaine); his grandson Brandon Abernethy (Andrea); his great grandchildren, Skylar and Dakota Abernethy; and his sisters, Janice Waters (Kent) and Linda Garmon (Everett). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
