He was predeceased by: his parents, Forest E. Brooks and Blanche M. Peeler Brooks; his wife Betty Jean Revels Brooks; his son Hubert "Coach" Gene Brooks; and his brothers, Dennis and Dean Brooks.
He is survived by: his son David Alan Brooks (Linda); his daughter-in-law Sherry Brooks; his granddaughters, Carmen Brooks, Karri Deptola (Stephen) and Gena Hoffman (Robert); his great grandchildren, Wellington, Maxwell, Adelaide, Alexander and Charlotte Hoffman; and his brother Joe Brooks (Betty).
