He was predeceased by: his parents, John Oldfield and Bessie Davis MacMillan; his wife Harriet Drawbaugh MacMillan; and his son Jack MacMillan, Jr.. He is survived by: his grandson Allen Kirby MacMillan of Cary, NC; and his close friend Leila B Doughton of Hickory. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 237 2nd Street, NW, Hickory, NC 28601.
