He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilmur Vernon Rhoney (Lottie Marie Brittain Rhoney) and Jerry; his brothers, Robert Rhoney and Kenneth Rhoney; and his brother-in-law Troy McMahon.

He is survived by: his wife Alice Kay Seitz Rhoney; his sons, Michael Rhoney (Vickie) of Randleman and Jonathan Rhoney (Tracy) of Charlotte; his grandchildren, Mikayli Kanae (Cristian), Meredith Kripas (Joshua), Madilyn Rhoney, Lauren Rhoney and Landon Rhoney; his siblings, Carolyn Ford (Russell), Keniethea McMahon and Cecil Rhoney (Ann); and his sisters-in-law, Evelyn Rhoney and Jean Rhoney. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Ebenezer United Methodist Church or the Longview Lions Club (3107 2nd Ave NW, Hickory, NC 28601).
