Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Jimmy leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Gibbs and Jean Gibbs. He is survived by: his sons, Peyton, Oliver and Christopher Gibbs; his brother Sam Gibbs (Faith) of Hickory; his fiancée Amy Dutton of Hickory; and his aunt Hattie Benfield of Morganton.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Bass-Smith Funeral Home & Crematory (334 2nd St NW, Hickory, NC 28601). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Bass-Smith Funeral Home Chapel (334 2nd St NW, Hickory, NC 28601).
