He was predeceased by: his parents, James Gibbs and Jean Gibbs. He is survived by: his sons, Peyton, Oliver and Christopher Gibbs; his brother Sam Gibbs (Faith) of Hickory; his fiancée Amy Dutton of Hickory; and his aunt Hattie Benfield of Morganton.
