Family, friends, and acquaintances remember Joan for her warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. She was predeceased by: her parents, Roland Young and Martha Weaver Young; her husband William Lester Buff; and her sister Louise Childers. She is survived by: her sons, William "Danton" Buff Sr. (June) of Connelly Springs and Ronnie Buff (Kay) of Murfreesboro, TN; and her grandchildren, Robert William Buff (Jenny), Bobbie Walker (Michael), William "Danton" Buff Jr., Jessie Phillips (Torean) and Roland Jeremiah Buff (Michelle). She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren and 8 step grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Hickory Funeral Home Chapel (1031 11th Ave Blvd SE, Hickory, NC 28602). A burial will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at the Brookford City Cemetery (6316 Mountain Grove Rd, Hickory, NC 28601).
