He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Johnny Woodrow Chapman and Irene Lineberger Chapman Finger; his wife Shirley Chapman; his children, Jonathan Chapman (Angela), Brent Chapman (Karen) and Deborah Lawter; and his siblings, Barbara Champion of Kings Mountain and Paul "Roger" Chapman. He was also cherished by eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
