He was predeceased by: his father Jerry C. Houston. He is survived by: his mother Doris "Oma" Droste Houston; his wife Nechole Ann Vallot Houston; his children, Bridget Mitchell (Michael), Skye Helms (Michael), John C. Houston Jr. and Jesse Houston (Sarah); and his siblings, Manan Houston (Sandy), Mack Houston and Anna Strassner (Mark). He is also survived by six grandchildren; and numerous other loving family members.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to Levine Children's Hospital.
