He is survived by: his wife Valerie Lynn Copeland Curry of Hickory; his sons, John Francis Curry (Lindsey) of Newton, NC and Michael Garett Curry (Melanie) of Long Island, NY; and his grandchildren, John Francis Curry, Madeline Rae Curry, Kylie Belle Curry, Brady Michael Curry, Logan Alexander Curry and Hailey Bean Curry.
The military honors was held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM at the Bass-Smith Funeral Home & Crematory (334 2nd St NW, Hickory, NC 28601). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
