It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Gilbert of Hickory, North Carolina, who passed away on July 7, 2023, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Brown and Mabelle Powlas Gilbert; his wife Dagmar; his former wife Emma Jean; his siblings, Charles Gilbert (Bennett) and Frances Gilbert Britton; and his stepson Ralph Maxwell.
He is survived by: his sons, Jeffrey (Darlene) of Catawba, NC, John (Beverly) of Catawba, NC, R. Tracy (Jennifer) of Newton, NC, Coley (Laura) of Summerville, SC and David (Tami) of Gray Court, SC; and his stepdaughter Martha Reasor (Richard) of Waco, TX. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
