She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Richard Hefner and Lois Miller Hefner; and her brother Charles Richard Hefner. She is survived by: her daughter Kimberly Branch Young (Todd); her grandsons, Jeffrey Young (Helen) and Michael Young (Katie); her brother Ron Hefner (Mary Jane); and her nephew Tommy Hefner (Kelli).
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Bass-Smith Funeral Home (334 2nd St NW, Hickory, NC 28601). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
