It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kay (Townsend) Kanupp of Hickory, North Carolina, born in Catawba, North Carolina, who passed away on August 24, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Martin Dean and Annie Mae Norris Townsend; and her daughter-in-law Anita Kanupp. She is survived by: her husband Jesse "Jet" Kanupp; her children, Revonda Young, Jesse Kanupp Jr., Terry Kanupp, Harold Kanupp of Hickory and Mark Kanupp (Annette) of Hickory; her children-in-law, Lucille Kanupp of Hickory, Peggy Kanupp of Hudson and Kenneth Young; her siblings, Martha Hall, Kathy Baldwin, Martin Townsend (Darlene) and Tommy Townsend (Sheila); her pet Bella; and her caregivers, Auncie Derr-Holmes, Echo Starnes and Kay. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren.
