It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lanny Loyd Bumgarner (Hickory, North Carolina), who passed away on May 21, 2026, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Bumgarner and Sara Hudson; and his sister Sara Jean Davis. He is survived by: his wife Teresa Bumgarner; his daughter Stacie Buff; his son-in-law George Buff; his daughter Heather Bumgarner Moore; his sister Teresa Smith; his brother-in-law Butch Smith; his sister Kerri Coffey; his grandchildren, Raven Riopelle, Paxton Buff, Tristan Buff, Greyson Buff, Camryn Moore, Carrington Moore and Keaton Moore; his great grandchildren, Sawyer and Leia Riopelle; and his siblings-in-law, Paula Stine and Rudy Stine.

We would also like any memorials to go to the Catawba County Humane society and the Samaritans Purse Operation Heal our Patriots in lieu of flowers.
